Phelan is a passionate advocate of the body’s ability to heal itself and the role the psyche plays in sickness. She has run private therapeutic sessions for individuals with anxiety and eating disorders as well as strong classes for dedicated athletes. In her experience, a combination of both is the key to maintaining mental and physical wellbeing. Phelan understands that whilst some students want to practice yoga to find stillness others are seeking challenge and strength, so she seeks to incorporate both elements. Her classes are strong and dynamic, but also calming. Whilst there is an emphasis on feeling like you’ve had a work out, there is also sufficient time put aside for deep stretching and reflection.
